About Us

Cambridge Counselling Centre provides a confidential therapy service to both individuals and couples. It was founded in 2009, when Jackie relocated to Cambridge with a vision to establish an independent therapy centre, dedicated to emotional growth, integrity and building better personal relationships.

Jackie is a warm, dynamic, interactive counselor offering a safe place for clients to grow and to heal. With more than over twelve years professional experience as an integrative counsellor, I work with a wide range of needs. Some of the issues with which I have worked successfully include:

Addictions
Emotional Difficulties
Family Problems
Relationships
Loss of sense of self
Work difficulties
Stress and anxiety

I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselors and Psychotherapists), FHCP (Faculty Healthcare Counselors and Psychotherapists, and a member of the Institute of Reality Therapy. I have a Diploma in Addictions Counselling, an Advanced Diploma in Group Work (WPF), several continuing professional development Certificates from the Tavistock Institute, in Understanding Trauma, Working with Disruptive Adolescents, and specialist training in Anorexia, Bulimia and Eating Disorders with WPF. My experience includes working in drug and alcohol treatment within the prison system with RAPt (Rehabilitation Addicted Prisoners Trust), a residential 12 step treatment centre for men – part of Action on Addiction, and facilitating aftercare groups for Cottonwood de Tuson, in London. Prior to that I lived and worked in New York City for 14 years and understand the pressures and vicissitudes of life in the world of business. I currently work in private practice.

Typical clients come to improve their lives in many different areas, including relationships of all kinds; overcoming addictions; mid-life issues; end-of-life issues; learning to cope better with any of life's difficulties, such as illness, finding meaning in life, transitions and decision making.

I can work with you individually, as a couple, or a family, or in a group, business or organisation. Respect, shared responsibility and safety are essential components to be found in our time together.
